Julian felt a sharp sting of tears in his eyes. The weight of his past arrogance crushed him. He looked down at his legs, which were now warm and fully alive, and then at the boy, whose pale skin seemed even more exhausted now, his breathing shallow from exhausting his energy to perform the miracle.

"Leo," the boy replied, wiping a tear from his dirty cheek.

Julian slowly, hesitantly, placed his feet flat on the polished marble floor. With a deep breath, he pushed himself up. The crowd gasped. For the first time in nearly a decade, the billionaire stood tall on his own two feet. He took a shaky step forward, then knelt directly onto the floor, bringing himself down to Leo’s level.
"I am so sorry, Leo," Julian said, his voice breaking as he looked into the boy's hazel eyes. "I can't bring your mother back, and no amount of money can fix the monster I was. But I swear to you, your mother's death will not be in vain."
