Chapter 2: The Man Who Never Died

The hospital room fell into complete silence as the door slowly swung open.

Esteban instinctively stepped in front of Yohandra's bed.

A tall man wearing a charcoal overcoat entered, accompanied by two security guards.

His silver hair was neatly combed.

His expression remained calm.

As though he owned every room he entered.

Esteban's heart nearly stopped.

"Father..."

Rafael Castillo smiled faintly.

"I see you've finally found them."

Yohandra clutched the blanket with trembling fingers.

The little girl hid behind Esteban's legs.

"You should have stayed hidden," Rafael said quietly. "I gave you that chance six years ago."

Esteban stared in disbelief.

"You let the world believe you were dead."

"I needed my enemies to stop looking."

"And you destroyed our lives to protect your empire?"

Rafael's expression never changed.

"I protected my family."

"You destroyed it."

The old billionaire glanced toward the little girl.

His cold eyes softened only slightly.

"She's a Castillo."

"I won't allow strangers to raise my blood."

Esteban stepped closer.

"She is my daughter."

"And she stays with her parents."

Rafael sighed.

"I built everything you own."

"You built it with fear."

Before anyone could move, another voice echoed from the hallway.

"Not anymore."

Everyone turned.

The bride stood in the doorway.

Her wedding dress was soaked from the rain.

Her mascara had run, but her eyes were steady.

Behind her walked several detectives.

The older woman from the church followed close behind, holding a thick folder.

"I recognized Yohandra the moment I saw that photograph," she said.

"I kept copies of everything my husband tried to hide."

She handed the folder to the lead detective.

Inside were medical records, financial transfers, witness statements, and security footage showing Rafael forcing Yohandra to disappear years earlier after she refused to falsify patient records for his private clinics.

The detective looked directly at Rafael.

"Mr. Castillo, you're under arrest."
