Chapter 2 – Behind the Perfect Wife

The police arrived within minutes.

While paramedics treated Emily's injuries, detectives searched the house.

Victoria insisted Emily had become "emotionally unstable."

She claimed the nanny had imagined everything.

Then one detective entered the kitchen.

"Sir."

He placed two baby bottles on the counter.

Laboratory tests later confirmed traces of prescription sedatives inside one of them.

Victoria's explanation changed again.

"I must have mixed up my medication."

But the lies continued falling apart.

Hidden inside the pantry was a journal Emily had secretly kept for months.

Every incident was documented.

Dates.

Times.

Photos of bruises.

Voice recordings of Victoria screaming at employees.

Receipts showing wages withheld.

Even screenshots of unanswered messages begging to visit her hospitalized son.

Emily hadn't planned revenge.

She had only been collecting evidence in case something happened to her.

The detective closed the notebook.

"This wasn't a single act of cruelty."

He looked directly at Victoria.

"This was a pattern."
