Chapter 3: A New Dawn

Six months later, the suffocating darkness of the past had completely evaporated. Victoria had been sentenced to a maximum-security prison term, stripped of every dime, her name permanently dragged through the mud. But Julian didn't care about her anymore; his only focus was healing.
Julian had sold the cold, marble penthouse and bought a sprawling, sunlit country house surrounded by rolling green hills and wildflower gardens.
On a warm afternoon, Julian sat on the veranda, watching a beautiful sight. Serafina, her blonde hair catching the sunlight, was running through the grass, laughing out loud as she chased a golden retriever puppy. Her cheeks were flush with health, her big blue eyes sparkling with genuine joy.
The lunch bell rang, and Serafina came bounding up the wooden steps, throwing her arms around Julian's neck.
"Are you hungry, princess?" Julian asked, brushing a stray braid from her face.

They sat down at a grand wooden dining table overflowing with fresh food, surrounded by laughter and warmth. Julian looked at his daughter, who was now eating happily, safe in the knowledge that she was cherished above all else. The nightmare was truly over, and their real life had finally begun.
