Chapter 4: Justice at the Altar

Victoria believed she had won.

Three days later, she insisted the wedding should continue.

"It would honor your mother's wishes," she said softly.

Arthur simply nodded.

"You're right."

The ceremony began in the mansion garden.

Politicians.

Business leaders.

Television cameras.

Hundreds of guests.

Victoria walked toward Arthur wearing a breathtaking white gown.

She smiled confidently.

Everything was finally hers.

Just before the officiant spoke, Arthur raised one hand.

"I have something everyone deserves to see."

The giant wedding screen suddenly changed.

Instead of romantic photographs...

The security footage appeared.

The guests watched in stunned silence.

Victoria's smile vanished.

The video showed every second.

The argument.

The shove.

The bracelet breaking.

Eleanor falling.

Gasps echoed throughout the garden.

Victoria screamed.

"It's fake!"

Arthur calmly held up the purple crystal.

"It matches your broken bracelet."

Police officers stepped forward.

Victoria tried to run.

She didn't make it five steps.

Handcuffs clicked around her wrists before she reached the garden gate.

As officers escorted her away, she turned toward Lily.

"You little—"

Arthur stepped between them.

"If you ever look at my daughter again..."

"...you'll spend the rest of your life regretting it."

Victoria lowered her head.

May you like

For the first time...

She looked afraid.
