The boardroom on the fiftieth floor overlooked the entire city.
Floor-to-ceiling windows reflected the faces of twelve directors seated around a long black table. Every seat was occupied. Every folder had already been opened.
When Isabella entered, every executive stood.
"Good evening, Madam Chair."
The greeting echoed through the room.
Outside the glass walls, Lucas stumbled into the lobby, his tie crooked, Sophie following close behind. Security blocked the entrance before either of them could reach the elevators.
"You can't keep me out!" Lucas shouted.
The security chief remained expressionless.
"I'm afraid we can, sir. Your access card was revoked eighteen minutes ago."
Lucas stared.
"What?"
"The board has removed your executive privileges."
His phone vibrated.
Another email.
Executive Authority Terminated.
Another.
Corporate Credit Accounts Frozen.
Another.
Emergency Board Resolution Approved.
Inside the boardroom, Isabella calmly took her seat at the head of the table.
"Let's begin."
Her assistant dimmed the lights.
A presentation appeared.
Every financial statement.
Every hidden debt.
Every fraudulent transfer.
Every illegal payment Lucas and Richard had buried over the past four years.
Director Harris removed his glasses.
"My God..."
Another director slowly asked,
"How long have you known?"
"Since before I married him," Isabella answered.
Silence.
"I wanted evidence—not accusations."
Slide after slide exposed forged contracts, shell companies, insider trading, and millions siphoned into private accounts.
Richard had signed every one.
Lucas had approved every payment.
Helen had used company charities to launder personal expenses.
Even Sophie appeared in several transactions disguised as "consulting services."
No one spoke.
Finally Isabella closed the file.
"I believe you've seen enough."
Every director raised a hand.
The vote was unanimous.
Lucas Morgan.
Removed.
Richard Morgan.
Removed.
Helen Morgan.
Removed.
All pending compensation canceled.
Legal action authorized immediately.
At that exact moment, officers from the financial crimes division entered the mansion with search warrants.
