Chapter 1 – The Cameras Never Lied
The hospital suite fell into absolute silence.
Marcus Thorne looked from his wife lying on the floor to Isabella Rossi standing only a few feet away.
Neither woman spoke.
Marcus didn't ask what had happened.
He simply dropped to one knee beside Khloe.
"Stay with me," he whispered, gently taking her hand.
Doctors and nurses rushed into the suite after hearing the commotion.
Elaine Parker immediately pointed toward the hallway.
"Call Labor and Delivery. Now."
As physicians carefully examined Khloe, Isabella wiped away perfectly timed tears.
"Marcus... she lost her balance. She came at me first."
Marcus didn't even look at her.
His attention never left his wife.
Khloe managed to whisper only three words.
"The cameras..."
Marcus frowned.
"What cameras?"
She nodded weakly toward the ceiling.
Every luxury patient suite inside Rosemont Medical Center was monitored at the entrance and common area for security purposes.
Within minutes, another man entered the room.
Dr. Nathan Caldwell.
Chief of Trauma Medicine.
Vice Chairman of the hospital board.
And Khloe's uncle.
The moment he saw his niece, every trace of professional composure disappeared.
"What happened?"
Elaine answered quietly.
"Security has everything on video."
Nathan turned toward the Head of Security.
"Lock the footage."
"No one copies it."
"No one deletes it."
