Chapter 3: The True Legacy (Conclusion)

One year later, the sun streamed brightly through the windows of a beautiful new home far away from the oppressive shadow of Victoria’s mansion. It was their son’s first birthday. The house was filled with the warm aroma of baked cake and the genuine laughter of true friends and Clara’s supportive family.

Ethan stood by the glass doors leading to the backyard, watching Clara chase their toddler across the grass. He looked down at his phone one last time. There was an email from an attorney stating that Victoria’s firm was facing bankruptcy after losing its top clients to Ethan's booming new company, and she was desperately asking for a meeting.

Ethan didn't feel anger, nor did he feel a desire for revenge. He simply felt indifferent. He deleted the email, turned off his phone, and slid it into his pocket.

He walked out into the yard, joining his wife and son. As he lifted his little boy into his arms and kissed Clara’s cheek, he knew he had kept his promise. They had broken the cycle of abuse. His family was safe, his wife was respected, and their future was entirely their own.
