Chapter 4: Home At Last

One year later, another celebration filled the Whitmore estate.

This time there were no crystal centerpieces meant to impress strangers.

No elaborate speeches.

Only family.

Emily stood beside Grace beneath an old oak tree in the garden.

"I always wondered why I kept dreaming about you," Emily said.

Grace laughed softly.

"Maybe sisters never really forget."

Charles approached carrying a small wooden box.

Inside lay the original silver locket, carefully restored.

"It belongs to both of you."

Grace opened it.

The faded childhood photograph remained inside.

She added a new picture beside it.

The two sisters together.

Smiling.

Finally reunited.

As the afternoon sun settled over the estate, children ran across the lawn while laughter echoed through the gardens.

The wedding had almost become another story about wealth, appearances, and humiliation.

Instead, it became something far more important.

A family finally found the daughter they believed they had lost forever.

Grace looked toward the mansion that no longer felt like a stranger's home.

For years she thought the little silver locket was all she had left of her past.

She had been wrong.

It had never been carrying only a photograph.

It had been carrying the way home.
