Chapter 2: The House Begins to Speak

Grayson laughed.

"You believe one hysterical woman over an entire family?"

Dominic smiled faintly.

"No."

"I believe evidence."

He nodded toward one of his associates.

A laptop was placed on the antique dining table.

Another man connected it to Ravenshore's internal security network.

Grayson frowned.

"What are you doing?"

The technician answered calmly.

"Accessing your surveillance system."

Grayson's face changed instantly.

"The cameras don't record."

"They've been disconnected for months."

The technician looked up.

"No."

"They've been recording continuously."

"Someone simply disabled the monitors."

Dominic watched Grayson carefully.

"So..."

"You knew there were cameras."

Silence.

Within minutes, every television inside the mansion came alive.

The ballroom projector lit up unexpectedly.

Three hundred guests watched in stunned silence.

The footage began.

Harper entered the library carrying legal documents.

She appeared calm.

Then Grayson followed.

Soon after came Celeste.

Finally Paige.

There was no sound.

Only images.

But images were enough.

Guests watched Grayson slap Harper.

Watched Paige strike her across the face with a champagne flute.

Watched Celeste calmly close the library doors.

Then another angle appeared.

Grayson trapping Harper's hand inside the heavy desk drawer.

Slamming it shut.

Again.

And again.

A woman near the back gasped.

"Oh my God..."

The footage continued.

Harper tried to leave.

Paige blocked the doorway.

Grayson shoved Harper backward.

She hit the desk.

Blood appeared.

Nobody in the ballroom moved.

May you like

Nobody could.

The house itself had become a witness.
