CHAPTER 4 — THE SIGNATURE

Six months later, Voss Global announced record growth.
Not because thousands had been fired.
Because thousands had stayed.
Employee turnover reached its lowest level in company history.
Scholarship programs expanded.
Factories were modernized.
Profits increased without sacrificing integrity.
At the annual shareholders' meeting, a young business student asked Elena one final question.
"If you could go back to that day... would you destroy Damian again?"
The room fell silent.
Elena looked toward the audience before answering.
"I didn't destroy him."
She paused.
"He built a kingdom where fear was mistaken for leadership."
"When fear disappeared..."
"So did the kingdom."
The audience remained quiet.
Then hundreds of people stood and applauded.
Later that evening, Elena returned to the same office where everything had changed.
The broken glass had been replaced.
The bloodstain was gone.
Only one item remained exactly where it had always been.
The fountain pen she had used to sign Damian's dismissal.
She picked it up.
Smiled softly.
Then placed it inside a display case.
Not as a trophy.
As a reminder.
Power is temporary.
Money changes hands.
Titles disappear.
But the way a person treats others...
Signs every chapter of their own future long before any contract ever does.
Outside, the lights of the city shimmered beneath the evening sky.
Inside, Elena closed the office door.
Not on revenge.

But on a chapter that no longer deserved another page.
