Chapter 2 – Behind the Locked Door

Alejandro ordered every servant into the grand ballroom.

No accusations.

No threats.

Only one question.

"Who knows what happened to my wife?"

No one answered.

The servants stared at the floor.

Then an elderly housekeeper named Rosa stepped forward with tears in her eyes.

"I've waited three years for this day."

Vivian snapped.

"Don't you dare."

Alejandro raised one hand.

"Let her speak."

Rosa reached into her apron and removed a tiny brass key.

"I kept this hidden."

"What does it open?"

"The old wine cellar."

Vivian's face turned white.

Alejandro immediately ordered the lock broken.

Behind dusty shelves and forgotten barrels, they discovered a concealed steel door.

Inside was not a cellar.

It was a prison.

A narrow room.

One bed.

Chains bolted into concrete.

A calendar scratched into the wall.

One thousand ninety-six marks.

Three years.

Elena collapsed the moment she saw it.

"I thought... I would die there."
