Chapter 2: The Recording He Never Meant to Reveal

The ballroom froze.

A single drop of Elena's blood landed on the polished white floor.

Julian lowered the baseball bat, breathing heavily as if years of anger had finally exploded.

"No one move," he ordered.

The guests stared in disbelief.

The wedding planner rushed toward Elena, but Julian raised the bat again.

"I said don't move."

Daniel Cross, Julian's best man and a former Marine, quietly stepped in front of Elena.

"Put the bat down."

Julian ignored him.

"You all think she's innocent?" he shouted.

"Then watch."

He pointed toward the damaged LED screen.

Although shattered, part of the display was still functioning.

A hidden backup system automatically restored the last uploaded video.

Instead of their engagement photos...

Security footage appeared.

The date in the corner read Three Weeks Earlier.

The room watched in silence as Elena entered Julian's private office late at night.

She wasn't alone.

A gray-haired man handed her a thick envelope.

Julian laughed bitterly.

"There."

"Everyone can finally see the truth."

But before he could continue, the footage changed.

The camera angle widened.

The gray-haired man embraced Elena.

Not romantically.

Like a father comforting his daughter.

Then his voice echoed through the speakers.

"I'm proud of you, sweetheart."

"You've gathered enough evidence."

"The FBI will take over from here."

May you like

Julian's face turned completely pale.

He had never seen the rest of the recording.
