THE SECRET INSIDE THE LUNCHBOX .....

CHAPTER 1 — THE SECRET INSIDE THE LUNCHBOX

The victim’s father remained standing.

His face was no longer the face of a powerful businessman who had walked into the courtroom believing he controlled everything.

It was the face of a man who had just seen a ghost.

The judge stared at him.

“Mr. Anderson,” he said calmly, “sit down.”

The man slowly lowered himself back into his chair.

But his eyes never left the old lunchbox.

The accused young man, Daniel, looked confused.

He looked at the boy.

Then at the judge.

“Your Honor… what does that lunchbox have to do with me?”

The judge didn’t answer immediately.

He picked up the torn photograph again.

“This picture was taken twenty years ago.”

Daniel froze.

Twenty years.

That was the night his entire life changed.

The night his father was accused of stealing from the Anderson family.

The night his house burned down.

The night his father died.

Daniel had spent years believing that everyone had forgotten.

But someone hadn’t.

The judge opened the napkin again.

The words written on it were simple:

“I saw what really happened.”

The prosecutor quickly stood.

“Your Honor, this is an old family matter. It has nothing to do with today’s case.”

The judge looked at him.

“Are you sure about that?”

The prosecutor hesitated.

The judge continued.

“The young man standing there is accused of stealing from the same family involved in this old incident.”

The courtroom became silent.

The little boy looked at Daniel.

“My grandma said the truth was hidden because powerful people were afraid of it.”

Daniel’s eyes filled with emotion.

“What was your grandma’s name?”

The boy answered softly.

“Emma.”

Daniel stepped back.

That name.

He remembered.

A little girl from the old photograph.

A little girl he had saved from the fire.

Everyone thought she died that night.

But she survived.

And she had spent her whole life carrying the truth.

The judge looked at Mr. Anderson.

“Did you know Emma was alive?”

The man said nothing.

That silence was his answer.

The judge ordered the court officer to bring the old investigation files.

Minutes later, a dusty box arrived.

The judge opened the records.

Then he found something strange.

A page was missing.

A witness statement had been removed.

The judge looked up.

“Someone erased evidence.”

Mr. Anderson’s hands began shaking.

Daniel looked at him.

“You knew.”

The man finally spoke.

“You don’t understand.”

Daniel’s voice became cold.

“You destroyed my family.”

Mr. Anderson looked down.

“I was trying to protect my own.”

The judge leaned forward.

“Protect them from what?”

The man didn’t answer.

But the little boy did.

“My grandma said there was another person involved.”

Everyone turned toward him.

“She said the person who caused everything was never caught.”

The courtroom went still.

Because suddenly everyone understood.

May you like

The fire was never an accident.

Someone had planned it.
