Chapter 4: The Fall of the House of Sterling

The reaction was instantaneous. Within minutes, the sound of sirens echoed outside the clinic. Julian stared at the phone in horror as the realization hit him: he had just confessed to a attempted murder on live television.

The Sterling money couldn't save him this time. The public outrage was too massive, the evidence too undeniable.

The final scene took place in a crowded Manhattan courtroom three months later. Julian sat at the defense table, his expensive suit looking empty on his slumped shoulders. The arrogance was entirely gone, replaced by the hollow stare of a man who had lost everything. His parents sat in the gallery, faces grim, realizing their empire was crumbling under the weight of federal investigations into their finances and cover-ups.

Victoria took the stand. She was no longer the fragile woman lying on the stones. She wore a simple white dress, her posture straight, her eyes fixed on the man who had tried to break her.

"Julian Sterling thought his status made him invincible," Victoria testified, her voice echoing clearly throughout the courtroom. "He thought that because I had nothing, my life had no value. But power built on lies always collapses."

The jury took less than two hours to return a verdict: Guilty on all counts, including attempted first-degree murder.

As Julian was led away in handcuffs, screaming obscenities at his lawyers, Victoria walked out of the courthouse steps. The grey clouds had finally cleared, and for the first time in years, the sun felt warm against her skin. She had survived the fall, and in doing so, she had brought the monsters down with her.
