Chapter 2: The Reckoning

Within seconds, a squad of heavily armed Elite Rangers poured out of the Humvee, securing the perimeter and disarming the resort's private security, who dropped their weapons without hesitation. Nobody was stupid enough to fight the United States military.

Richard tried to find his voice, desperately pulling out his phone. "You can't do this! I have senators on my payroll! I built this empire! I'll call the Governor!"

General Irons didn't look intimidated. He calmly pulled out his own secure satellite phone, dialed a three-digit code, and placed it to his ear.

"This is Irons. Initiate Operation Blackout on Vance Industries. Freeze all domestic and offshore assets under the National Security Act. Evidence of federal racketeering and treasonous foreign funding is already on your desk. Execute."

Richard’s phone suddenly went wild with notifications. Alert after alert flashed across the screen: Assets Frozen. Bank Account Access Denied. Stocks Suspended. In less than sixty seconds, the immense wealth that Richard used as a shield to abuse others was completely vaporized.

"You think your money makes you a god, Richard?" Irons said, stepping directly into the billionaire's personal space. The scent of cigar smoke and absolute authority rolled off the General. "In my world, respect is earned through sacrifice, not bought with a checkbook. Today, your empire falls."
