Chapter 3: Thirty Years of Lies

Three months later...

The courthouse was full.

Not because Preston was famous.

Because the video had gone viral.

Millions of people had watched a respected businessman frame an eight-year-old child before attacking her in front of hundreds of witnesses.

The prosecution barely needed to speak.

The video spoke for itself.

But another surprise arrived.

The elderly waiter.

His name was Samuel Greene.

He testified under oath.

"This wasn't the first time."

Everyone looked up.

"I worked dozens of Whitmore family events."

"I watched Preston bully children."

"I watched his parents cover for him."

"I watched employees fired whenever they challenged him."

He paused.

"I stayed silent."

"I regret that every day."

One by one...

More witnesses appeared.

Former employees.

Old classmates.

Even Preston's college roommate.

Each story sounded different.

Each ending sounded identical.

His parents paid.

His parents threatened.

His parents protected.

Until nobody dared hold Preston accountable.

The jury deliberated for less than two hours.

Guilty.

On every count.

The judge spoke quietly.

"This courtroom has reviewed disturbing evidence."

"But perhaps the most disturbing truth..."

"...is that this violence did not begin with the defendant."

"It was enabled."

Preston received eight years in state prison.

His father resigned from every company board within a week.

His mother disappeared from public life.

The Whitmore family foundation lost nearly every corporate donor.

Their reputation collapsed faster than their empire ever had.

Not because of rumors.

Because of truth.

Truth recorded in high definition.
