Emily was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Doctors confirmed she and the baby were stable, though Emily showed signs of prolonged physical abuse and severe emotional trauma.
Meanwhile, detectives searched the apartment.
At first, everything appeared perfectly normal.
Then one investigator noticed that the bedroom closet had a false back panel.
Hidden behind it was a locked storage compartment.
Inside were dozens of items Ryan never expected anyone to find.
Medical reports Emily had secretly collected.
