Three months later, Elena gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

Alejandro held his daughter for the first time with tears quietly filling his eyes.

“She'll never grow up afraid,” he whispered.

Doña Victoria was convicted on multiple charges, including document forgery, witness intimidation, and assault-related offenses.

The court also issued a permanent protective order preventing any future contact with Elena or the child.

Alejandro resigned from active military service after completing his final assignment.

He wanted to be present for every milestone his daughter would have.

Her first smile.

Her first step.

Her first day of school.

One quiet afternoon, the three of them returned to the same kitchen.

The iron was gone.

The forged papers were gone.

The fear was gone.

Only sunlight remained, pouring through the windows onto the table where terror had once ruled.

Elena gently placed her daughter into Alejandro's arms.

“This house finally feels like a home.”

He smiled.

“No.”

Looking at both of them, he softly corrected her.

“This is the first home we've ever truly had.”

Outside, white lilies bloomed beneath the kitchen window.

Not as a reminder of what they had survived...
