Months passed.

Logan stepped away from daily operations at Mercer Industries.

The board protested.

He ignored them.

Business could wait.

His son could not.

He attended every therapy session.

Every school event.

Every bedtime story.

Every doctor's appointment.

One rainy afternoon, Logan and Noah planted a young oak tree together in the estate garden.

The little boy carefully pressed soil around the roots.

"What if it doesn't grow?" Noah whispered.

It was the first complete sentence Logan had heard from his son in years.

His eyes filled with tears.

"It will."

"How do you know?"

"Because we'll take care of it."

"Together?"
