Hard drives were copied.
Email archives were secured.
Expense reports were reviewed.
Elena quietly watched from her office.
She hadn't ordered revenge.

The truth took care of the rest.
One investigator approached her.
"We've found unauthorized executive bonuses."
Another added,
"Private company funds paid for three vacation homes."
A third handed her a folder.
"There are shell companies."
"Dozens of them."
Damian sat across from corporate investigators for nearly six hours.
Every answer led to another question.
Every explanation uncovered another inconsistency.
Finally, one attorney looked directly at him.
