The trial lasted only four weeks.
Evidence overwhelmed every attempt at a defense.

False imprisonment.
Aggravated assault.
Identity fraud.
Financial embezzlement.
Witness intimidation.
Conspiracy.
Each charge carried years in prison.
Vivian insisted Elena had stayed voluntarily.
The courtroom erupted when prosecutors played recovered security footage.
The video showed Elena begging to see her husband.
Vivian slapped her.
Then calmly said,
"He's already forgotten you."
Jurors stared in disbelief.
Even Vivian's own attorney lowered his head.

He answered without emotion.

She was led away without another word.
Outside the courthouse, reporters surrounded Alejandro.
"Mr. Castillo, what happens now?"
He looked toward Elena.
She stood beside him wearing a simple cream-colored dress.
No designer jewelry.
No expensive makeup.
Only quiet dignity.
