Police officers arrived within the hour.
After interviewing every witness and reviewing the surveillance footage, Victoria Sterling was arrested for misdemeanor assault.
She stared in disbelief as an officer placed handcuffs around her wrists.
"You can't arrest me!"
The officer remained professional.
"Miss Sterling, please turn around."
"My father owns this town!"
Richard answered quietly.
"No."
"I helped build part of it."

The Oakridge Board of Directors called an emergency meeting that same afternoon.

His employment ended before sunset.
The board chairman personally approached Claire.
"We failed you."
"There is no excuse."
He handed her an envelope.
Inside was six months of paid salary, complete medical coverage through her pregnancy, and an offer to return whenever she wished.
Claire looked at Hank.
Her father smiled proudly.
"You earned that yourself."
"No biker club did."
