Chapter 3: The Trap Closes

Near midnight, Adrian entered the bridal suite carrying a bottle of champagne.

"I've got one last surprise."

Sophia calmly handed him several documents.

"Our financial advisers suggested we complete these tonight."

Without reading them, Adrian signed every page.

His arrogance never allowed him to imagine the documents had been rewritten.

The next morning, the Blackwell family assembled for a celebratory breakfast.

Instead, federal investigators entered the estate.

Detective Hayes placed a folder on the table.

"Mr. Blackwell."

"We have warrants regarding financial fraud, coercion, forged business agreements, and assault."

Adrian laughed.

"This is ridiculous."

Sophia quietly slid the signed documents toward him.

His smile disappeared.

"What is this?"

"The agreement you signed."

Instead of granting Adrian authority over Sophia's assets, the documents permanently revoked every management privilege he believed he had acquired.

Even worse, hidden clauses required an immediate forensic audit of every shared financial transaction.

His own signature had triggered the investigation.

Nathan folded his arms.
