Chapter 2: Harrison Cole Goes to War

The following morning, Harrison arrived at Harrington Commercial Group headquarters.
He wasn't carrying anger.
He was carrying evidence.
Board members watched nervously as he connected a laptop to the conference room screen.
Richard entered late.
"Harrison."
"This isn't the place—"
"It is exactly the place."
The screen illuminated.
Bank transfers.
Shell corporations.
Offshore accounts.
Emails.
Property deeds.
Every fraudulent transaction Richard believed no one would ever discover.
Harrison spoke quietly.
"While my sister was trying to save your marriage..."
"...you were stealing from it."
The chief financial officer looked horrified.
"You diverted company funds?"
Harrison clicked again.
Another document appeared.
Vanessa's luxury penthouse.
Purchased through one of the shell companies.
Paid for with corporate money.
Silence filled the room.
Then Harrison displayed one final video.
The courthouse surveillance footage.
Every board member watched Vanessa shove Khloe down the stairs.
Richard closed his eyes.
"It's over."
"No," Harrison replied.
"It has only started."
Within forty-eight hours...
Federal investigators froze company accounts.
Banks suspended major credit lines.
The Board voted unanimously to remove Richard as CEO pending investigation.
Shareholders filed civil lawsuits.
The district attorney approved criminal charges against Vanessa for aggravated assault.
Everything Richard spent twenty years building...
Began collapsing in two days.
Later that evening, Richard arrived at the hospital.
He stood outside Khloe's room.
"I need to see her."
Harrison stepped into the hallway.
"No."
"I love her."
Harrison looked at him steadily.
"No."
"You loved having someone who never stopped forgiving you."
"That's different."
Richard lowered his head.
May you like
Deep down...
He knew it was true.
