CHAPTER 4 — HOME AT LAST

One year later...

The Pierce estate felt different.

The pool where Emma had nearly lost her life had been transformed into a children's rehabilitation center funded by the Pierce Foundation.

Its entrance displayed a simple inscription:

"Every child deserves to feel safe."

Emma laughed as she chased butterflies through the garden with Mrs. Yvette.

The fear that had once shadowed every step was finally fading.

Christopher watched from the porch.

His assistant approached.

"Your afternoon meeting is ready."

Christopher smiled.

"It can wait."

He walked across the lawn and knelt beside his daughter.

Emma wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Daddy?"

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"You're not hiding me anymore."

He kissed her forehead.

"Never again."

Nearby, Mrs. Yvette quietly wiped away a tear.

She had once hidden a recorder to save a child.

Now she watched that same child grow up surrounded by honesty instead of fear.

As the sun began to set, Christopher looked toward the old mansion.

For generations, the Pierce family believed their greatest treasure was wealth.

They had been wrong.

Their greatest inheritance had always been the children entrusted to them.

And from that day forward...

May you like

Emma would inherit not only a family name—

But a home where she would never again have to wonder if she belonged.
