She listened carefully as Olivia described months of controlling behavior, threats, and financial manipulation.
The woman standing silently in the corner, Victor's cousin Elise, finally found the courage to speak.
"I saw what happened," she said quietly.
"He raised the belt."
"Did Mrs. Lawson threaten him?" the detective asked.
Elise shook her head.
"No."
She explained that Olivia had repeatedly tried to leave the room while Victor blocked the doorway.
Household employees confirmed hearing arguments on previous occasions but had been afraid to intervene.
Detective Bennett collected photographs, messages, and statements from everyone present.
