Chapter 3: The Empire Falls

The penthouse doors burst open.

"NYPD!"

Julian bolted toward his private office.

Emily didn't chase him.

She already knew where he was going.

Hidden behind an oil painting stood a biometric safe.

Julian opened it with trembling hands.

Inside were encrypted hard drives, offshore account records, forged marriage contracts, and confidential files belonging to several women.

Before he could destroy them—

Detective Lawson stepped into the doorway.

"It's over, Mr. Cole."

Julian laughed nervously.

"You have no proof these belong to me."

Emily quietly picked up one folder.

"It has your fingerprints."

She held up another.

"And your signature."

The forensic team entered moments later.

Every hard drive was cataloged.

Every document photographed.

One detective quietly whispered,

"There are more victims than we imagined."

Rebecca nodded.

"And now they finally have evidence."

Julian looked around the room.
