Although several security cameras inside the mansion had been disabled, investigators recovered financial records, phone messages, and backup files from company servers.

My attorney handed over everything I had quietly collected over the previous two months.

Emails.

Invoices.

Bank transfers.

Internal approvals.

Each document fit another piece into the puzzle.

The consulting company Vanessa claimed to operate had received substantial payments while performing little documented work.

Auditors began tracing the transactions.

At the same time, detectives interviewed household employees.

Several admitted they had witnessed controlling behavior over the years but had been afraid to speak because they feared losing their jobs.

Adrian requested a meeting with me through his lawyer.
