The remaining board members were ordered to surrender their passports.
Arthur Crane disappeared before investigators reached his apartment.
William Hawthorne publicly denied involvement.
He described Victor as a rogue executive who had deceived everyone.
Noah called an emergency board meeting inside the Golden Crown Hotel.
This time, federal investigators attended.
Mia joined remotely from Lily’s hospital room.
William sat at the head of the long table.
“That chair belongs to me,” Noah said.
William stood reluctantly.
Noah took his place.
The restored ballroom looked different without music, flowers, or wealthy guests.
The east wall remained open where officers had discovered the underground vault.
Noah placed the original ledgers on the table.
“These records show that four directors used the Golden Hearts Foundation to fund bribery, fraud, and political influence.”
William folded his hands.
“Then we should cooperate fully.”
“You were one of the four.”
“That allegation is based on initials.”
Noah displayed a recovered email.
William’s name appeared beneath approval for a seven-million-dollar transfer.
His face tightened.
“My signature was copied.”
Mia’s voice came through the screen.
“The document uses your private encryption key.”
William looked toward her.
“You have caused enough damage to this family.”
Noah stood.
“She exposed the damage you caused.”
William turned toward the federal agents.
“This is a corporate disagreement.”
Agent Claire Donovan placed a warrant on the table.
“No.”
“It is a criminal conspiracy.”
Officers arrested William.
Arthur Crane was found hours later attempting to cross into Canada.
Samuel Price’s supposed confession was proven false.
William had forced him to write it before poisoning him.
Samuel survived because a junior attorney discovered him before the dose became fatal.
By evening, every executive named in Alexander Vale’s letter had been arrested or charged.
Noah addressed company employees through a live broadcast.
He did not hide behind carefully prepared language.
“My family name was used to protect crimes.”
“My trust allowed corruption to continue.”
“My wife saw what I refused to see.”
“I cannot undo that failure.”
“I can only ensure it is never repeated.”
He announced an independent investigation.
The entire board would be dissolved.
Golden Hearts Foundation funds would be restored with interest.
Every executive expense would be published annually.
Survivors and whistleblowers would receive legal protection.
Some investors sold their shares immediately.
The company’s value fell.
Noah accepted the loss.
A clean company was worth less than a corrupt empire.
It was also worth saving.
After the meeting, Noah returned to the hospital.
Mia stood beside Lily’s incubator.
