Chapter 2 – The House Divides
The ambulance arrived within minutes.
Doctors examined Emily before transporting her to the hospital for emergency observation.
Daniel never left her side.
Back at the mansion, police officers secured copies of the security recordings.
Victoria continued insisting the video was misleading.
"You don't understand the angle."
"It doesn't show everything."
The lead detective calmly replied,
"It shows enough."
Meanwhile, Daniel's younger brother, Michael, quietly approached him in the hospital corridor.
"I owe you an apology."
Daniel looked surprised.
Michael lowered his head.
"I believed Victoria every time she said Emily was trying to divide the family."
"I was wrong."
He handed Daniel a flash drive.
"I've been collecting evidence for months."
Emails.
Financial records.
Security logs.
Audio recordings.
Victoria had been manipulating nearly every member of the Carter family.
Not only Emily.
Everyone.
Daniel stared at the drive.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't have proof."
"Now we do."
