One year later, laughter once again filled the Carter estate.

But the atmosphere had changed completely.

She ran into his arms.

Outside, workers removed the final reminder of Victoria's influence—a bronze nameplate that had hung beside the front entrance for years.

In its place, Daniel commissioned a simple engraving.
