Reed confessed that Richard paid him to replace Anna’s independent diagnostic report.
He removed the transmitter before the insurance inspection.
He then approved the destruction of the vehicle.
Reed claimed Celeste promised him five million dollars.
Richard kept delaying payment.
The scheduled twenty million included additional money for remaining silent during the trust theft.
Reed provided the final link between the sabotage and the cover-up.
Anna’s crash was officially reclassified as a planned killing.
Ethan attended the court hearing where the new charges were announced.
Celeste entered wearing a plain jail uniform.
She looked smaller without the elegant clothes, mansion, and carefully practiced smile.
Richard entered separately.
They did not look at each other.
Their partnership had collapsed.

Celeste claimed Richard manipulated her grief and jealousy.
Richard claimed Celeste planned Anna’s death.
The recorded conversation inside the lighthouse bell contradicted both stories.
They had planned it together.
Noah pleaded guilty to conspiracy, obstruction, and financial crimes.
He agreed to testify.
Before he was taken away, he asked to speak to Ethan.
“I know apologizing changes nothing.”
“It does not bring Anna back,” Ethan replied.
“No.”
“I should have warned her.”
“You should have warned everyone.”
Noah lowered his head.
“I was afraid of losing my life.”
Ethan thought of Sophie inside the locked suitcase.
“Your silence almost cost my daughter hers.”
Noah had no answer.
Outside the courthouse, reporters asked Ethan whether he wanted the harshest possible punishment.
“I want the truth entered into the record,” he said.
“Punishment belongs to the court.”
That evening, Ethan returned to the mansion.
Sophie stood outside Anna’s locked bedroom.
“Can we open it?” she asked.
Ethan looked at the door.
For two years, the room had been frozen in grief.
Celeste had invaded it.
Richard had tried to claim it.
