Within minutes, the woods were swarming with armed officers. Thomas was pinned to the ground and cuffed, his face pressed into the dirt he had tried to bury Lily in.
Back at the house, Evelyn was led out the front door in handcuffs, sobbing hysterically as her elderly parents watched from the porch, devastated and utterly broken by the revelation of their children's crimes.

Detective Miller walked over to Sarah and Mark, looking thoroughly humbled. "We found the rest of the stolen Apex assets hidden in the attic. And we found the signal jammer. Mrs. Miller... I owe you an apology. You were right from the start."
Sarah didn't care about the apology. She just held Mark’s hand, her body finally stopping its violent shaking as the adrenaline began to fade.
