He refused to raise his son where fear had lived.
They bought a modest home surrounded by trees outside Kansas City.
No shouting.
No manipulation.
No locked doors.
Neighbors became friends.
Hannah volunteered with organizations helping mothers recovering from postpartum trauma and domestic abuse.
