Chapter 11 - THE PLANE CRASH
Daniel Thorne had not died in a random plane crash.
That was the secret Victoria had buried for twenty-two years.
Malcolm recovered and agreed to talk in exchange for protection. He claimed Victoria had discovered Daniel planned to remove her from control of Thorne Global.
Days before the crash, she ordered Nolan to falsify a maintenance report.
The plane went down over the Atlantic.
No criminal case was ever opened because the damaged component was blamed on weather and age.
Marcus listened without blinking.
“My mother killed her own father?”
Malcolm shook his head. “She says she only wanted the flight delayed. Nolan says otherwise.”
Gabriel placed another document on the table. It was a payment ledger connecting Victoria to the mechanic who signed the false report.
Khloe reached for Marcus’s hand.
He looked destroyed.
For years, Victoria had taught him that loyalty meant silence, that family scandals must remain private, and that outsiders could never be trusted.
Now he understood why.
She had built the family’s unity around fear.
Police issued a warrant for Victoria’s arrest.
But when officers reached the Thorne estate, she was gone.
Her private helicopter had left twenty minutes earlier.
Flight control reported its destination.

Before leaving, Marcus returned to Khloe’s bedside. She did not ask him to stay. She only said, “Bring back the truth, not revenge.” He kissed her hand. “I do not know what the truth will leave of my family.” Khloe answered, “Then build something better from what survives.”
