The delivery room filled with urgent voices and steady instructions.
Marcus stayed beside Khloe through every contraction.
“I am scared,” she admitted.
“So am I.”
“Do not lie to me again.”
“I won’t.”
Hours later, their daughter was born small but breathing.
The nurse placed her against Khloe’s chest for one brief, perfect moment before taking her to neonatal care.
Marcus cried openly.
Khloe looked at the tiny face beneath the soft hospital cap. “Her name is Daniela.”

Months passed.
Isabella accepted a plea agreement after admitting Victoria had paid her to break the marriage and frighten Khloe into leaving. Victoria was convicted on multiple charges tied to the assault, the hospital plot, and the old aviation fraud. The investigation into Daniel’s crash remained open, but the evidence ensured his death would no longer be dismissed as an accident.
Marcus resigned temporarily from Thorne Global and entered counseling. He did not ask Khloe to forgive him quickly. He rebuilt trust through actions, one day at a time.
Khloe used her voting control to separate the family foundation from the company and fund legal support for victims of domestic and financial abuse.
On Daniela’s first birthday, Khloe returned to the hospital garden with Marcus and Gabriel.
A plaque had been installed near the maternity wing:

Marcus stood beside her. “Do you ever think about that night?”
“Every day.”
“Do you regret staying?”
Khloe looked at her daughter laughing in Gabriel’s arms.
“I did not stay,” she said. “I took my life back.”
Across the garden, the security cameras turned quietly above the doors.
This time, they were not watching a lie begin.
