Chapter 10 - Project Meridian

The answer arrived the next morning.
Project Meridian was not a company.
It was a medical file.
Jonathan found the first reference through a payment made from Northstar Advisory to a private psychiatric clinic outside Boston.
The clinic had received $240,000.
The invoice described executive wellness consultation.
Elena had never been there.
She called the clinic herself.
“My name is Elena Voss.”
The receptionist paused.
“Yes, Ms. Voss.”
“I’m requesting my records.”
Another pause.
“I’ll need to transfer you.”
Twenty minutes later, a lawyer joined the call.
That was enough to tell Elena the records existed.
“I have never been a patient at your facility.”
The lawyer responded carefully.
“Our files indicate otherwise.”
“Send them.”
“We’ll need identification.”
“You’ll have it in five minutes.”
Two hours later, a secure folder arrived.
Elena opened it in front of Jonathan.
Her photograph appeared on the first page.
Patient: Elena Marie Voss.
Diagnosis: Progressive paranoid disorder with episodes of delusional thinking.
Jonathan stared.
“This is fabricated.”
Elena kept reading.
The file claimed she had become increasingly unstable over three years.
It documented conversations that never happened.
Medication she never took.
Episodes she never experienced.
At the bottom were two physician signatures.
And one emergency contact.
Damian Cross.
Jonathan’s face hardened.
“He was building an incapacity case.”
Elena turned the page.
A psychological assessment recommended temporary transfer of financial decision-making authority if symptoms worsened.
Then she saw the date.
The final evaluation was scheduled for eleven days from now.
One day before the annual shareholder meeting.
Project Meridian.
Elena finally understood.
Damian was supposed to challenge her competency.
Elias would use the Founders Covenant.
Damian would temporarily receive her voting rights.
Elias would combine those rights with his hidden shares.
Together they could seize the board.
Afterward, Damian believed he would control Voss Global.
But Damian had misunderstood one thing.
Elias never intended to share it.
Jonathan looked at her.
“We go to the police.”
“Not yet.”
“Elena.”
“If we move now, Elias destroys evidence.”
“He tried to frame you as mentally incompetent.”
“And he spent eighteen years preparing for something.”
Jonathan stared at her.
“What are you saying?”
Elena closed the medical file.
“I’m saying Damian was never the architect.”
“He was bait.”
“And someone has been waiting almost two decades to take my father’s company.”
Her phone vibrated.
A message from Elias.
