Chapter 10: The Hearing
The courtroom was crowded.
Santiago arrived with expensive lawyers and a face full of confidence.
That confidence faded when Elena entered.
She was not alone.
Her father walked beside her, but he did not lead her. Elena walked on her own.
The judge listened to the recordings. Reviewed the financial documents. Read the statements from staff who had been afraid to speak before.
Santiago’s lawyers tried to paint him as a misunderstood husband.
Elena stood and spoke only once.
“I do not want him destroyed,” she said. “I want him unable to destroy anyone else.”
The judge granted her protection, control of her personal assets, and full separation from Santiago.
