Santiago tried to recover his pride.
“You can’t just walk into my house.”
Alejandro’s expression did not change.
“This house,” he said calmly, “belongs to a company that belongs to me.”
The room went silent.
Santiago blinked. “That’s impossible.”
“So does the ranch in Jalisco. The beach property in Cancún. The office building your family uses to pretend they still have influence.”
Carmen gripped the railing.
Alejandro continued, “Your father’s debts were purchased eighteen months ago. Quietly. Legally. Completely.”

“You did this?”
