Chapter 7: Elena’s Decision

Three days later, Elena met with her father’s legal team.
They expected her to be fragile.
Instead, she arrived in a white dress, her hair tied back, her hand resting over her belly.
“I want a divorce,” she said.
The lead lawyer nodded. “We can proceed quietly.”
“No,” Elena replied.
Everyone looked up.
She swallowed, then continued.
“I stayed quiet because I was ashamed. Because I thought people would blame me. Because I thought surviving meant hiding.”
Her father watched her carefully.
Elena lifted her chin.
“I don’t want revenge. I want truth.”
