The Castillo estate sat outside Mexico City behind iron gates and jacaranda trees.
Elena had not returned there in years.
When the car stopped, nurses, staff, and her father’s longtime housekeeper, Rosa, rushed forward. No one asked questions. No one stared. They simply surrounded Elena with quiet care.
That night, Elena slept in her childhood room.
For the first time in months, no one shouted her awake.
Alejandro sat outside her door until morning.
